Paris, January 9, 2024. RIVE Private Investment, an independent European investment company, has successfully concluded the sale of its stake in the Goya wind project. With this operation, ENGIE consolidates itself as the majority partner of the project, by acquiring a 51% stake jointly owned by MIROVA, RIVE, RGREEN INVEST and Apres Demain S.A.
Established in April 2018, the Goya project is an emblematic and extensive wind portfolio in Aragon, Spain, notable for its innovative approach to renewable energy financing and development. The project, comprising seven wind farms with a total capacity of 194 MW, has been fully operational since 2020. It distinguished itself as a pioneering renewable energy initiative in Spain, being one of the first to operate without state subsidies and to secure a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The Goya project is a landmark transaction part of a historical strategic relationship between RIVE and Mirova, involving several renewable energy investments in Spain and France, and demonstrating RIVE’s ability to secure proprietary deal-flow across Europe.
This exit confirms RIVE’s leading historical performance and precedence in the renewable energy sector, especially in Spain where RIVE sold another wind portfolio last summer. RIVE remains committed to investing in and contributing to a more sustainable economy with RIVE Infrastructure Impact Fund, supporting small-to-mid market energy transition businesses in Europe.
